Detroit’s $8.5M bet on Dexter Avenue spurs a wave of new investment in the neighborhood

As Detroit’s resurgence continues, there’s been considerable talk about ensuring development activity moves beyond the central business district and into the city’s farther out neighborhoods.

While still in early stages, work along Dexter Avenue west of the historic Boston Edison area — and where the city completed an $8.5 million streetscape and infrastructure investment — appears to be one test case.
