Arbour on Main

CLIENT: Peritus Ventures, LLC
LOCATION: Ann Arbor, MI
YEAR: 2022-Ongoing

McIntosh Poris was hired to develop all phases of design of this multifamily development nestled within a stand of existing trees and abutting the edge of the expansive University of Michigan Golf Course, this site is a reprieve from the city. The 450 unit project on 9.8 acres is a multifamily development in Ann Arbor, Michigan. The design highlights several use areas for the residents: a meandering pedestrian pathway through native grasses, a discovery play/park area and spacious roof terraces sprinkled with canopy trees and undulating landforms.

Landscape improvements include heightened aesthetics at the main entry, additional pedestrian paths, and enhanced multi‐generational recreation areas. The existing 9.8‐acre site lacks stormwater management provisions.

The project adheres to Ann Arbor’s smart‐growth strategy. Transitoriented and bike/pedestrian‐friendly, the complex is located on a main transit corridor adjacent to public transportation routes and multi‐modal/bike paths. As well, it is within walking distance of a grocery store, pharmacy, and other shops and restaurants. The architectural design is modern and contextual to Ann Arbor. Sophisticated clean lines paired with earthy materials like brick and wood composite integrate with the setting that is at once natural and urban.
